One of the hardest things for people who are in affiliate marketing or selling their own products or services is getting traffic. That is where the first mistake is made because what you really want is targeted website traffic.

Let’s look at a few really important things about traffic and why this should be the last thing you ever need to worry about. Plus I’ll tell you about a few really good courses that will help you get all the details you will ever need.

Website Traffic Is Easy To Get

Right now, you probably think getting traffic is really hard. But that is only because you have been told lies about what traffic is and what you should expect. The gurus in the Internet Marketing market make you think you need thousands of visitors a day to make any money.

In many markets and depending on your business model, you may only need 100 visitors a day. That is not very many. That is also why you need to concentrate on quality over quantity.

Getting traffic is really easy because you have to do only three things (just just one of them depending on what you want to do.)

1. You build links everyday to get free SEO traffic
2. You pay for traffic using one of the many networks
3. You can also build videos and do social traffic

That is how you get traffic. So it’s either a lesson in persistence and patience or a you just whip out your pocket book and pay for it.

Quality Traffic Is What You Want

The quality is what you want and here is a good example from my business. In our fitness business, we have a site that gets anywhere from 500 to 800 visitors a day. That is not too shabby.

But the conversion rate doesn’t even exist with this site. Why because the traffic is extremely general and they are coming to read, not to buy something or join something.

On the other hand, I have a business selling physical products that gets only 100 to 200 visitors a day. That website consistently makes over $20,000 a month. All because the quality of traffic is so high.

So How Do You Get Quality Traffic?

You have to know your keywords. But here is how I think about it…

1. What Am I Selling?

If I am selling a physical product, I typically target the product name and all it’s variations and I like to use both SEO and PPC traffic. You can be sure if somebody is searching for 3D TVs that they are looking for that and are interested in buying.

If I am selling an information product or service, it can be a little harder. Let’s say I am selling a book on how to create the ultimate TV theater. It’s a great market but many people may not want to buy if they type in “how to build a tv theater.”

This is where it’s best to spend a few hundred dollars on PPC and find out what keywords convert for you and then you can use those to do some SEO campaigns for. But it will take in investment… but an investment that will pay off.

If you are affiliate marketing, you just want to get all the traffic you can. The more you can get the more you will make so keep that in mind.

2. What Is The Price Point?

I also like to look at the price point. If it’s high and I can get a decent conversion rate, I won’t need tons of visitors. If it’s lower then I will obviously need more to hit revenue goals.

So that let’s me know how many keywords I will need to initially target and how broad the keywords need to be. Remember the broader the keyword, the more traffic but the less it will convert.

As you can tell, there is a lot to think about when you want to get traffic. Just remember that you want to concentrate on targeted website traffic.

Finally, whatever method you choose, realize it takes time to get the targeted website traffic flowing. All the stories of going from zero traffic to thousands in a day are lies… don’t fall for them. They are manipulated stories.
